Creative Sight evolved from a group of driven individuals and business partners wanting to increase patronage and profile of contemporary art and design, creativity and culture.

Our shared experiences and commitment to creativity enable us to encourage greater involvement and recognition of the arts through our projects and programs.


Individuals

Renai Grace

Director

Renai has a Bachelor of Arts (Art History), University of Queensland and was awarded a post-graduate fellowship in curatorial studies at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, Venice, Italy.She is an active participant in the visual arts industry with over 17 years work experience. She has spent her career working with government and business to raise the profile of contemporary art through public art projects, corporate art collections, art exhibitions, awards and artist in residence programs. Her professional experience includes Chief Executive Officer, Artworkers Alliance, Associate Director, Positive Solutions as well as Principal Officer, Sponsorship and Business Development, Queensland Art Gallery I Gallery of Modern Art.

Renai has curated, project managed and developed art strategies for significant national and international projects. She has initiated and directed non-profit, small-scale artist run spaces (Fortitude Gallery, smith+stoneley Gallery, Brisbane and Blindside Artist Run Space, Melbourne) in collaboration with artists.

 

Michelle Xen

Curator/Researcher

Michelle Oxenham is a consultant for Creative Sight. She possesses a diverse skills base in the creative industries as an artist-musician, curator and researcher. Michelle graduated from the Queensland College of Art with a Bachelor in Fine Arts and is currently completing her Master of Arts in research, based in contemporary multi-disciplinary practice. 

Over the past 10 years, Michelle has been employed as a researcher, curator and project manager at Expressions Dance Company, the Judith Wright Centre and SOOB Festival in Brisbane as well as a Client Service Officer for the Australia Council for the Arts – Audience Development Unit. She has a range of consultation experience with artists, venues and audiences throughout Queensland, Victoria and the Northern Territory.

 

Cathy Hunt (BA Hons, M.Phil)

Cathy Hunt is a cultural strategist and one of the founding directors of Brisbane based Positive Solutions www.positive-solutions.com.au. Cathy is a business adviser to Creative Sight and works in partnership with the company through Positive Solutions.

Her work in the arts and cultural sectors spans over 20 years, across the UK, Australia and Asia Pacific in management, research and consultancy. Advising art centres in remote Australian Indigenous communities; developing strategies for cultural facility provision for the Government of Hong Kong; establishing and managing a loan scheme for creative businesses; and working with Mater Health Services on their engagement with artists and creative practitioners, are just some of the areas Cathy has worked in over the past few years.
